Short Bio / Excerpt:
Ning Chiu Hoi Ning (趙愷甯) is a prominent Hong Kong-based clinical hypnotherapist, psychologist, competitive sports shooter, and entrepreneur. She has carved out a unique dual career path by fusing her deep expertise in clinical psychology and mental resilience with tactical athletics. Her work focuses on utilizing experiential sports paradigms to enhance cognitive conditioning, manage psychological stress, and foster mental toughness across diverse demographics.
Chiu established a solid academic foundation in behavioral sciences, earning a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Psychology from the University of Bath, UK. This intensive training equipped her with a strong command over psychotherapeutic modalities, stress regulation strategies, and cognitive intervention frameworks. Seeking to expand her clinical toolkit, she later specialized in clinical hypnotherapy, allowing her to deliver multi-layered mental wellness and psychological intervention strategies to her clients.
As an entrepreneur committed to community impact, Chiu channelled her clinical insights into co-founding the Hong Kong Airsoft Competitive Shooting Institute (ACSI). The organization collaborates across various public and private sectors to design structured experiential programs—ranging from corporate team building and youth development to tailored programs for seniors. Through innovative athletic engagement, Chiu's curriculum focuses on developing psychological resilience, improving stress management, and upgrading overall life quality for participants.
In tandem with her clinical practice, Chiu is a world-class tactical athlete within the international IPSC Action Air (Practical Airsoft Shooting) arena. She serves as the Program Director and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Shooting Instructor at the Hong Kong Practical Shooting Gun Club (HKPS) in San Po Kong. In this specialized instructional role, she pairs her psychological background with tactical firearm mechanics to coach youth and neurodivergent individuals, building their self-confidence, safe handling protocols, and positive personal values through sport.
Her exceptional mental focus and technical precision culminated on the world stage at the IPSC Action Air World Championship 2025, where she was crowned the Classic Division Lady World Champion. Today, Chiu remains an active figure in Hong Kong's clinical and sports landscapes. Through her ongoing work as both a mental health practitioner and elite champion coach, she continuously advocates for an inclusive, diverse, and health-conscious society powered by the intersection of psychological science and athletic mastery.
